Introduction

Welcome to CDLens. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile application for CD scanning, identification, and collection management. By downloading, installing, or using CDLens, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CDLens, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access or use our application.

Description of Service

CDLens is a mobile application that lets users identify CDs and related media using AI-powered recognition. Users can scan the disc, cover artwork, or barcode of a CD to retrieve release information, market prices, and condition-based valuations, and organize their personal collection.

User Accounts

CDLens does not require an account or registration to use core functionality. Optional cloud features may require a sign-in in the future; those features will be governed by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Subscription Services

CDLens offers an optional premium subscription that unlocks additional features and capabilities:

Premium Features

  • Unlimited disc, cover, and barcode scanning
  • Advanced collection statistics and value tracking
  • Bulk scanning and batch import
  • Detailed condition grading for media and case
  • Export your collection as CSV or PDF
  • Priority customer support
  • Advanced filtering, search, and sorting
  • Cloud backup and multi-device sync

Subscription Plans

  • Monthly Plan: $4.99 per month
  • Annual Plan: $29.99 per year (Save 50%)
  • Lifetime Plan: $79.99 one-time payment

Prices may vary by region and platform. The price you see in the app at the time of purchase is the price that will be charged.

Subscription Terms

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
  • You can manage and turn off auto-renewal in your account settings on the App Store or Google Play
  • Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when purchasing a subscription

In-App Purchases

CDLens may offer in-app purchases in addition to the premium subscription:

  • Premium subscription plans (as described above)
  • One-time unlocks for specific features
  • Optional credit packs for high-volume scanning

Purchase Terms

  • All purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by law
  • Prices may change at any time with notice
  • Purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • You agree to pay all charges at the prices then in effect

Free Trial

CDLens may offer free trial periods for premium features:

  • Free trials automatically convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends
  • You can cancel at any time during the trial period
  • Trials are limited to one per user per feature

Refund Policy

Refunds for subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled by the platform you purchased from:

  • iOS Users: Refunds are processed through Apple's App Store refund system
  • Android Users: Refunds are processed through Google Play Store policies
  • Contact the respective store for refund requests
  • We do not process refunds directly

User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or modify the app
  • Use the app to misrepresent ownership of media you do not own
  • Interfere with or disrupt the app's functionality
  • Share your subscription credentials with others
  • Use the recognition service in any way that abuses our infrastructure or violates the terms of our providers

Intellectual Property

CDLens and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. Album artwork, label names, and release metadata remain the property of their respective rights holders and are displayed for informational purposes only.

Recognition Accuracy and Pricing

While we strive for high accuracy in CD recognition, condition grading, and market price data, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. Market values are estimates based on public marketplace data and should not be considered financial advice. Verify important details independently before buying, selling, or trading any media.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the app, to understand our practices.

Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted. Recognition results, release info, and pricing are provided for informational purposes only.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall CDLens be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from your use of the app.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the app immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including a breach of these Terms.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and posting the new Terms on our website.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the app is developed, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

iOS App Store Specific Terms

For iOS users, these Terms are in addition to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. You acknowledge that:

  • Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance and support services
  • Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party
  • Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claims
  • You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo
